AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition Expiry... by Nathan Woodcock Many of you would be using the free version of AVG anti-virus, and have probably been nagged by it for the past few weeks to upgrade to version 8 as version 7.5 expired on 31st May. If you followed the prompts it would have appeared that the only way to continue using AVG is the pay for the new version. This isn't true! There is a new free download of AVG version 8 that you can grab and install. Note that as always the free version of for home use only. Download it from here: http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download?prd=afe Outlook Email Templates & Shortcuts... by Nathan Woodcock Do you have an email or multiple emails that you frequently send out with more or less the same text in every time? This could be regularly emailing out invoices, reminders, or requests to comment. If you use Outlook you can take advantage of Outlook Templates and at the click of a button bring up your pre-created and formatted email so all you need to do is add the recipients and any other modifications you might like. To create a template, first open a new Outlook email, and fill in the text that doesn't change. This might be the subject line and a paragraph in the body of the message, along with your signature. Then go to the File menu, choose Save As, and select type Outlook Template. You can save the template anywhere you like. Close your template email, then using Explorer find the file you just saved. Right click on it, choose Send To then Desktop (create shortcut). You'll now see your email template icon on the desktop. Right click it and choose properties. In the Shortcut Key box, press a letter you want to trigger the opening of your template, for example if you press I, then next time you press Ctrl-Alt-I a new email based on your template will open.

| Our Rates! Currently we charge a callout fee of $44 inc GST for onsite work (which includes the first 15 mins) then charge at $88/hour in 15 minute increments (ie. $22 per 15 mins) after that. If the job runs for an hour or longer, the callout fee is waived and the cost is just $88/hour. Unfortunately with the cost of petrol having risen 40% in the past twelve months we are increasing our callout fee from 1st July 2008 to $50. The hourly rate remains unchanged. Real-Life Helpdesk Calls #4672533: A user's PC hard drive is damaged, but the support tech manages to recover the files in key directories and copies them to a new drive. Still, the user is furious: "Where the @#$%! are all my files?" “Where were the files that are missing now?” the technician asks. "I used to save them in that cute can. I use those files a lot, and that icon says 'Recycle,' so I thought it was a good place to put the files that I reuse often." Tiny cheap notebook... The HP 2133 Mini-Note is about the sexiest ultra-portable notebook on the market. With a screen diameter of only 8.9 inches it still sports a good size keyboard, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, digital camera and Vista Business. It weights only 1 kilo and costs only $999 for the faster CPU, or just $899 for the slower one. Read more here: http://tinyurl.com/5an6tr
